#brexit: Everyone fixated eyes on television sets on the day of referendum results in Europe, the moment results were out everyone was gasping for breath. The European Union was crumbling before the eyes of the world. Britian decided to leave EU, the social media analyst went gaga and began discussing the repercussions of the #Bretexit, and it was shared by thousands on the same day online.

#IceBucketChallenge:  The common activity of dumping of a bucket of ice and water over a person’s head, either by another person or self administrated to promote awareness of the neuron related disease in America, this activity went viral in July-August 2014 on social media under the hashtag #IceBucketChallenge after prominent personalities, politicians posted their videos online and on TV participating in the event to donate money from the this challenge. According to reports more than 2.2 million people shared videos on twitter to accentuate the essence of donation for the neuron disease.

#TheWalkingDead:  It is an American post-apocalyptic horror television series where zombies disguised as living humans eat all those creatures producing sound including humans. This show has incredibly received well by critics and fans alike. This series after receiving many accolades and awards increased viewership online as well as offline and eventually began trending on social networking sites especially twitter. This is most shared, re-tweeted and searched hashtag from a decade now.   

#ThrowbackThursday: Throwback Thursday is a popular hashtag among social media platforms such as Instragram, Facebook and Twitter, Online Users often post nostalgia pictures of their past accompanied by the short form of hashtag #TBT, the term Throwback Thursday is attributed to anything in the past. This hashtag gained popularity due to its unique feature. The pictures, artwork of the erstwhile that has a unique attachment with humans encompassed large audience by searching through these tags accentuate their memories worth sharing on such platforms.
